Hopin is an all-in-one event management platform for virtual, in-person and hybrid events.
Founded in 2019, it achieved unicorn status just two years later when it reached a valuation of $7.75 billion, driven by the demand in remote working and video conferencing following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
British Patient Capital’s exposure to the company began in 2020 when Hopin raised a Series A round with participation from one of our fund managers, Seedcamp. Since then the business has grown from six employees to more than 900, operating in 47 countries and counting more than 100,000 organisations as customers.
Hopin has used the funding raised to expand its product offering beyond online events. In 2021 it acquired Boomset, an onsite event technology business, enabling it to build an all-in-one event management platform, including a virtual venue, video production studio, event marketing tools and onsite solutions. In the same year it also acquired event marketing business Attendify and video hosting service Streamable, as well as developing its own CRM and campaign manager products.
